This week our recipe is oh-so-indulgent pear French toasts, drenched in sweetness and perfect for special occasions. If you ate these every day you’d probably end up diabetic, but for a festive treat, they certainly do the trick.

We had these for an early lunch/late brunch and even then the sweetness was very heavy, so if you don’t have a sweet tooth, they probably won’t be too your liking. But if you’re the type to pour sugar over your cereal, they will go down a storm. read more

The Breakfast Club, Islington Review

Breakfast Club Veggie All-American

It’s time for another Wednesday review, and this time we headed for The Breakfast Club in Islington (not to be confused with The Breakfast Club in St Albans, which we have talked about previously).

Given that it had the same name as one of our favourite venues of all time, there was much excitement to try this cheery little cafe/restaurant. And it certainly is cheery, with a bright yellow facade and eclectic decor which includes lots of happy photos of customers. read more

Sweet Potato Veggie Burger Recipe

I am quite excited to have my first recipe post to share with you, and to report back on how it worked out for me. I found this recipe online by Kathy Patalsky, and wanted to try it right away. We love sweet potatoes and cook with beans and spinach all the time, so it seemed like a perfect fit! I changed a few small details in the recipe, so I will record exactly what I put in and how I cooked it here. I actually even forgot a stage or two, so I will reproduce the recipe here with my changes added. read more
