Sainsburys Cumberland Shroomdogs

Sainsbury's Caramelised Onion Shroomdogs

I have already sung the praises of the magnificent shroomdog before, but – gasp – there’s another flavour out! The Sainsburys Cumberland shroomdogs are in the style of the infamous Cumberland sausage, although with significantly less dead animal carcass and considerably more mushroom. read more

Sainsbury’s Caramelised Onion Shroomdogs

Sainsbury's Caramelised Onion Shroomdogs

Ah, shroomdogs.

When we first heard about these new products coming into Sainsburys, we definitely had a raised eyebrow or two. Shroomdogs? What kind of a name is that? It sounds ridiculous, and that caused a few worries that the product itself was going to be a laughing stock. read more

Quorn Aromatic Thai Bites

Quorn Aromatic Thai Bites

We hadn’t seen these before until we popped into Asda, so we definitely had to give them a try. These Quorn aromatic Thai bites looked pretty appealing from the outside, and we definitely liked the sound of them.

They are actually pre-cooked, so you can eat them right out of the packet. Not that you usually can’t with Quorn, since it’s not like meat where you need to kill off all the germs first, but still – these are actually designed this way. We decided to pop them in the oven to warm up as we were cooking some croquettes at the same time anyway. read more

Sainsbury’s Roasted Cauliflower Steaks

Sainsbury's Roasted Cauliflower Steaks

Recently we decided we just had to jump on the bandwagon and try the roasted cauliflower steaks from Sainsbury’s that everyone has been talking about. I’m definitely not a fan of cauliflower, but I figured that if it tasted more like something else with all the seasoning, it might just be worth a try. read more

Lady Luck Pizza Fries

Lady Luck Pizza Fries

Recently we headed to the Lady Luck (because when don’t we?) and were excited to try out their new special – pizza fries. Yes, it’s exactly as exciting as it sounds.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a snap of the menu like usual, but they’re fairly simple to explain. You’ve got sweet potato fries and hash browns, topped with onions, pizza sauce, and vegan cheese. Then it’s all melted together until it’s pretty delicious. It’s also pretty cute that they come out with a hashtag made with fries on top! read more

Cauldron Vegan Sausages

Cauldron Vegan Sausages

We promised more Cauldron reviews, and here we are! This time, we’re checking out the Cauldron vegan sausages.

They have a wide range of sausages available, so it’s always a tiny bit disconcerting when something is named “vegan” rather than being given a flavour. Like, what kind of flavour is vegan anyway? Is it a taste I’m supposed to recognise? Anyway, we’re going to look at some of their other sausages later on, so we’ll see why they’re so special they get their own names. read more

Cauldron Vegan Burgers

Cauldron Vegan Burgers

We’ve been trying out some new ranges ever since I decided to try going dairy-free, and a lot of the go-to items we were relying on turned out to contain milk. I couldn’t believe how much Quorn was full of it, so I was delighted to find these Cauldron vegan burgers. They have a full vegan range, so we’ll be featuring some of the rest soon!  read more

Higgidy Cheddar and Onion Chutney Veggie Rolls

Higgidy Cheddar and Onion Chutney Veggie Rolls

We normally stick to burgers for our reviews, but this week we picked up Higgidy cheddar and onion chutney veggie rolls and we couldn’t resist giving them a review. We wanted something that would be a bit of a filler for packed lunches and finger food buffets, and they fit the bill perfectly. read more
