In need of some Halloween nibbles for tonight? This pumpkin houmous is a great twist on the traditional recipe. It’s a little sweeter than normal and tastes fantastic warmed up as well as cold. If you dare to try something a little different, read on for our recipe and watch the video of how it’s made!
This week’s recipe heralds something we’ve been waiting for with bated breath – the return to pumpkin season! We absolutely loved cooking all of our pumpkin recipes last year and this one couldn’t come quickly enough.
We decided to start out with a traditional winter warmer recipe, given a little twist to bring in that pumpkin flavour. We made it vegetarian too of course! This veggie pumpkin chili is fun to make and so easy, and it tastes great. I don’t like my chili to be watery at all so this has quite a thick texture – if you prefer it a bit thinner, you can add water or vegetable stock.
Hi all! Now, if you only follow us here on the blog, you most likely already know that we usually post Vine videos on Mondays. What you may have seen is that every now and then there’s no post on a Monday – usually when the Vine doesn’t require a recipe to go along with it. In order to keep you all up to date, this is a quick Vine round up of some of the delicious clips we’ve posted lately that didn’t quite make it onto the blog. Most of them are pretty self-explanatory, which is why we didn’t do recipe posts for these – but if you have any particular questions, please feel free to leave a comment and ask away. In the meantime, feast your eyes…
As part of our ongoing Pumpkin Month, our latest recipe to try was a variation on a French casserole. Normally made with butternut squash, this recipe works really well with pumpkin, either as a side dish or a main meal. I’d love to see this made part of a Sunday lunch with some veggies and a vegetarian roast!
Quesadillas strike again! You already know we love Mexican food and especially these little folded and fried parcels of goodness, and so while we enjoy pumpkin month over on Vine, we just had to give these a go. I first found the recipe which inspired this meal over on The Kitchn, and it was definitely not something I could just click past. I mean, I seriously love three things: good cheese, quesadillas, and pumpkin. What wasn’t to like?
