This week we’re taking a look at a couple of vegan burgers from Pomodoro e Basilico. We found them at the Brighton Viva Vegan Festival and decided to nominate them as our lunch for the day, so they had big shoes to fill (previous vegan festival lunches have included Jake’s Vegan Steaks and Cafe SoVegan). Sadly, they found the shoes a little too big, as we will explain.
We were at the fantastic Brighton Viva! Vegan Festival this weekend and had such an amazing time. It’s been more and more thrilling to attend these events – being around so much vegan food is really exciting, and offers us the chance to eat things we’ve never seen before.
We headed out to London this weekend for the Viva! Vegan Festival, which was held in the Drum at Wembley. It’s a huge venue and it was packed full of various vegan stalls, which was just amazing to see. There was so much variety, as you can see in our video here:
Last weekend at the Vegan Summer Fest Brighton we managed to pick up a couple of delectable vegan burgers from Cafe SoVegan. Out of all of the burger stalls on offer they looked the most appealing, so we dove right in!
I couldn’t choose between the Mac Daddy and the Fully Loaded Herby, but helpfully they had a few samples on hand for us to try. Unhelpfully, they were both absolutely delicious, which did not help my dilemma. In the end, J went for the Mac Daddy and I had the Fully Loaded Herby, with a side of Mac No Cheese to make up for it. Here’s a few descriptions from the stand:
After our trip to the London event, of course we were so excited about Vegan Summer Fest Brighton! We couldn’t wait to get down, and were excited to be roaming about outside on a bright sunny day. There were two parts to the set-up: a giant marquee filled with all kinds of stands, and an outdoor area complete with a stage and lots of street food.
After the success of our Vegan Summer Fest London giveaway, we’ve got another one coming up for you! These tickets are for Vegan Summer Fest Brighton, which will be taking place on the 3rd & 4th June 2017.
Vegan Summer Fest Brighton is another instalment of this travelling vegan festival, which might be better for those of you living in the south! It’s a bit closer to home for us, so we’re very much looking forward to heading down for a great time and a waft of sea air.
Hopefully by now you’ve seen our Foodies Festival highlights post from earlier this week! As promised, today we’re bringing you a more in-depth look at the show and the brands that we encountered there. First off, let’s start by saying that we both loved walking around the event and speaking to all of the new brands. Everyone we spoke to was lovely and there were a lot of fantastic foods to sample.
