Video: Almondies

Almondies

This week we have something of an invention to share with: almondies, or almond blondies! We found a dessert in Canterbury which went by that name, and was delicious. This is not that dessert, and doesn’t even look remotely like it. Still, it’s a blondie packed full of almonds, so the name fits pretty well! read more

Bill’s Halloumi Burger

Bill's Halloumi Burger

This time out we took a trip to Bill’s in Bluewater. I can’t count the number of times we have looked at the menu and then ended up somewhere else, so finally it was time to give it a try. Of course we just had to go for the halloumi burger, which is listed on the menu as follows: read more

Vine Post: Banoffee Pie Jars

This week we have a sinfully good Vine to share with you. These banoffee pie jars were based on a Deliciously Ella recipe (that I won’t be reposting here), and they are SO GOOD. It’s hard to believe that such a small handful of ingredients can create this amazing taste, with a structure more akin to a cheesecake than a pie, all presented beautifully in a jar for good measure. read more

Recipe: Chili Bean Cakes

So, hopefully you spotted our Vine on Monday – the chili bean cakes which we have been raving about this week! We just had to set aside a bit of special space for these to explain the recipe and tell you a bit more about them. They are so fresh and tasty that they absolutely need to be shared, so make sure that you give this one a try if you are a veggie burger fan. read more

Where to Eat Veggie in the Loire

Where to Eat Veggie in the Loire

Recently we spent some time in France, with a week first in the Loire region. We stayed in a beautiful countryside cottage, which was absolute bliss – surrounded by the moos of cows and not much else, we were able to relax and enjoy home cooked food in the evenings. We also ventured out each day to explore the nearby regions, including some magnificent châteaux, some local towns, and a few other tourist spots. I then went on to stay at Berny-Riviere for another week while J returned home to work – one of the joys of being a freelancer is not having to worry about how much holiday time you’re taking! read more

Tesco Indian Potato Cake

Tesco Indian Potato Cake

The Tesco Indian Potato Cakes sounded interesting enough to take a stab at. Not only that, but they were on offer with most of the frozen vegetarian section, so it seemed obvious to give them a try. We quite enjoy a curry in our house, especially as J has Indian heritage, so combining curry spices with a burger sounded like quite a good idea. We decided to cook them up one day to make burger wraps, one of my favourite lazy meals from university. There’s not much to them – you need a burger, a wrap, some lettuce or other leaf, and mayonnaise. Sweet chilli dressing, sweetcorn, roast vegetables, and etc are optional. read more
